Dr. Gouldman is a board-certified thoracic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive procedures. Upon completion of his training in 2000, he entered private practice in Louisiana where he performed cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgery. He joined Northside Thoracic Surgery (formerly Atlanta Cardiac and Thoracic Surgical Associates) in 2004.
Dr. Gouldman’s minimally invasive experience is far-reaching, as he was the first surgeon to perform thoracoscopic lobectomy at Northside Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital in 2005. In 2015, he performed the first thoracoscopic rib resection for thoracic outlet syndrome in Georgia. Additionally, he has extensive experience with thoracic endometriosis, having performed surgeries on patients traveling from the greater U.S., Europe, Africa, Australia and South America. He is one of the few surgeons in Georgia performing pectus excavatum surgeries in young adults.
In recent years, he has gained experience with robotic thoracic procedures, and currently performs most of his lung cancer operations with this technique.
Dr. Gouldman is married and has two daughters. He enjoys hiking, fishing, and college football.
